WELLFLEET, MASS. (WHDH) - A beach in Wellfleet was ordered temporarily closed to swimming on Sunday after a shark was detected in the water.
Newcomb Hollow Beach was closed to swimming for two and a half hours after real-time detection recorded a shark nearby around 9:50 a.m., according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
The shark was seen heading north around 11:30 a.m., the Conservancy said.
The closure was extended to 2 p.m. shortly after.
