STOUGHTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A Sharon man pleaded not guilty to charges that he assaulted another man in a violent case of road rage.
Police said Alex Nguyen, 21, was driving his father’s Acura MDX in Sharon when he got angry at another driver, Michel Nassif.
Nassif, 54, said he had been driving the speed limit and pulled over to let Nguyen pass but said Nguyen instead stopped and yelled at him. Nguyen allegedly threatened Nassif and said he would kill him.
Nassif said Nguyen left but then reappeared and they stopped again near an intersection in Sharon. In this encounter, Nguyen allegedly punched Nassif in the face, bruising him. More than a week later, Nassif is still bruised and he said he gets dizzy and has headaches. The alleged attacks and threats happened to Nassif in front of his young children.
According to court documents, a witness told police Nguyen punched Nassif at least six times. Nassif said he tried to fight before he lost consciousness.
Nguyen turned himself in and claimed he was trying to defend himself, saying Nassif punched first. He is due back in court next month.
