Shrewsbury firefighter pleads not guilty to assaulting babysitter

A Shrewsbury firefighter arrested for allegedly assaulting a babysitter appeared in court on Tuesday.

The veteran firefighter is accused of getting into bed with his 15-year-old babysitter while she was sleeping.

Sean Bohdiewicz has two children, ages 2 and 5. The teen has babysat for the family for months and has reported a pattern of sexually inappropriate behavior that was unwelcome.

In January, police said the babysitter was sleeping at the house and when he and his wife arrived home, he got in bed with her.

Court paperwork said the teen shoved him off of her.

He has worked as a firefighter for eight years.

His attorney said he only learned about his summons to court after a member of the media reached out to him for comment.

Bohdiewicz entered a not guilty plea and was released on personal recognizance.
