Salem Police were on scene investigating a school bus crash at Mason and North Streets on Thursday.

Salem Public Schools said six students were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Thirty-one students from Bowditch Elementary School were on the bus at the time of the crash. A bus monitor was also on the bus.

According to the Salem firefighters, a car crashed into the bus as it was midway through the intersection, making a left-hand turn.

The school said parents came to the scene to pick up the remaining children, or the students were loaded onto another bus to finish the route.

The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital.

All patients have since been released from the hospital.

The driver has been ticketed for speeding.
