Monday’s National Nap Day could have been extended to yesterday too. It was great napping weather for sure, although I’m sure not many of you weren’t able to take advantage of that. School, work and kids tend to get in the way of those mid afternoon siestas on taco Tuesdays.
While we don’t see improvements come in in leaps and bounds, we do some some trends for the better today. For one, it’s a much drier morning commute and secondly, we’ll see temps a bit warmer today, especially away from the coast. Clouds struggle to completely clear out, but some breaks of sun are possible. Afternoon temps range from the mid to upper 40s along the coast to low to mid 50s inland. Even a few upper 50s northwest of 495 are possible if we catch enough breaks of sun there.

Showers roll back in here this evening and overnight today with lows in the 40s. Those showers are long gone by the morning commute Thursday and St. Patrick’s Day starts dry. Temps near 60 in the afternoon. The breeze is active, so it’ll feel cooler than that 60. In addition, a few pop-up showers/thunder form any time after 3pm, allowing for brief, gusty winds and some small hail thanks to all the cold air aloft.

The weekend turns chilly despite Spring’s official arrival. Sunday night and Monday is still the time to watch for the potential of some snow/rain with a coastal storm. To be continued on that one…
