ANDOVER, Mass. (WHDH) –- It was a light fluffy snow that fell in Andover and other parts of the Merrimack Valley leading to a foot and a half of snow before midnight.

The snow started falling at 4 a.m. and did not let up in many places across Massachusetts all day.

“I’ve had enough, I’m ready. I’ve had my fill I’m sure other people have too. There’s a lot to come I know but hopefully it mellows out,” one man said.

Crews in Andover worked to make sure Route 93 and other major roads were as clear as possible.

“It’s a love hate relationship, ya know? The truck breaks down or the plow breaks down but you’ve got to go out and get it done,” a plow driver said., Snow totals in the Andover area passed 10 inches at 5 p.m. a foot by 7:30 p.m. and 18 inches before midnight.

Police remind drivers to clear off their entire car before hitting the roads. They have also asked everyone to stay off the roads to allow treatment crews to work.
