Snow lovers, rejoice!  And all the others… I get it, you’re not all that happy about these flakes flying around.  Please remember I’m just the messenger, and it is winter after all.  Some of us will even be breaking out that snow shovel for the first time this season!  Which, is a little crazy to think considering we are more than halfway through Meteorological Winter (runs Dec. 1 through Feb. 29th, which I should have clarified last night in my blog) and we still have yet to pick up a full inch of snow in a single event this season (at BOS).  The first inch (or more) is on the way for many spots, but it is VERY tricky to pinpoint which areas will pick up 1" and which spots will get 4" or even 5" overnight tonight.

I do think that the higher amounts will likely favor E. Mass; North Shore – South Shore… but the places that get 4-5" will be very localized, and we’ll really just have to wait and see where those heavier bands set up.  Generally speaking, we’re all in for a more likely 1-3" of snow tonight through tomorrow morning.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of Central and Eastern Massachusetts through 10am tomorrow for slick travel (see graphic below).  A big key in this is that there is arctic air pushing in tonight, and really, the snow that falls will not be melting anytime soon.

Colder temperatures are in store for this week.  In fact, tomorrow we’ll start the day in the upper 20s and the temps will slowly fall closer to 20° by the evening.  Plus, we’re in for the wind to start kickin’, and that will take the "real feel" of temps down into the single-digits and teens for many.  Throw out those air temperatures… We gotta dress for the wind-chill readings!  I said it last night, and I’ll say it again:  "Why does the wind hurt my face?"  ;c)

After the snow tonight, we’re just cold and dry this week.  Watching a potential storm next weekend – but it is much too early to make any calls on this.  I mean, lets be honest – This morning I was thinking a coating to an inch of snow for most spots – and even a few hours later that forecast has changed.  Things change.  The weather changes.  Models change… but you… Be you.  Please don’t change.  I like you just the way you are (especially because you’re reading my weather blog)!  – Breezy
