BOSTON (AP) — Some areas of Massachusetts could get six to seven inches of heavy, wet snow from an early spring storm expected to hit late Monday, the National Weather Service said.
The service has issued a winter weather advisory that lasts until 4 a.m. Tuesday for much of western Massachusetts and northern Worcester County. Isolated areas at higher elevations in Berkshire County could get 10 inches of snow, the service said.
Areas to the west and north of Boston are expected to get lower snowfall amounts.
Greater Boston, southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island are forecast to get a wintry mix with mostly rain.
The snow is expected to quickly melt as temperatures rise into the 40s and 50s on Tuesday.
The snow is expected to make travel difficult.
