The latest numbers show that siblings, not mothers, have become the most likely source of whopping cough infections in babies.
In more than 1,300 cases of infant pertussis, 20% of infections came from mothers, while 35% came from a sibling.
Doctors say efforts should focus on improving vaccination coverage during pregnancy to better protect infants.
