A suspected shoplifter led South Carolina police on a chase through city streets on Monday.
The driver eluded police and stop sticks for two counties despite the hood of the car blocking his view. Police took him into custody at about 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
It started at a Game Stop store in Seneca, South Carolina—a small town west of Clemson University. According to police, the driver was confronted by another customer in the store.
The suspect and the other customer argued, and the suspect left the store in an SUV.
Police were called and an officer spotted the car in nearby Clemson, South Carolina. The officer perused the suspect.
No one was injured during the chase.
Police said they were correct for continuing the chase despite only a shoplifting charge because the suspect was driving with no regard for public safety.
The man faces several other charges in addition to shoplifting, including possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers also believe the car he was driving was stolen.
