In the second match of the day in Group C play South Korea defeated Fiji 8-0 at the Fonte Nova Arena.

South Korea was in control throughout the match, although it did not find the back of the net for the first time until the 32nd minute.

After controlling a cross, Seungwoo Ryu slotted his shot past Fiji goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau to make it 1-0. 

Six minutes later South Korea had a chance to double its lead with Changjin Moon standing at the penalty spot, but Moon struck his PK off the post to keep the score at 1-0.

In the second half, South Korea broke the game wide up with three goals in less than three minutes making the score 4-0. 

South Korea added four more goals late in the second half resulting in a winning score line of 8-0. 

Ryu had a hat trick for South Korea, Changhoon Kwon and Hyunjun Suk each scored two goals and Heungmin Son added in another. 

Despite allowing eight goals, Tamanisau had a strong game for Fiji, making save after save in the first half to keep his team in contention early on. 

Fiji takes on defending Olympic gold medalist Mexico on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. ET while South Korea faces Germany on Sunday at 3:00 p.m ET.
