Towns across the South Shore will be drying out and cleaning up Tuesday after being blasted by winter weather all day Monday.

High tide and high winds sent waves crashing over the seawall in Scituate.

Streets near the lighthouse flooded quickly, and some roads were temporarily shut down. Police and fire asked people to avoid the coastline if they could.

Several towns on the Cape met blizzard conditions, including Falmouth.

Heavy winds and blowing snow created near white out conditions.

When the storm passed, it left more than 7 inches of snow to plow and shovel.

With the high winds and potential for flooding, power outages were also a concern. But it didn’t turn out to be a serious problem.
