SPRINGFIELD, MASS. (WHDH) - Wednesday marks the five-year anniversary of the deadly tornado that his the Springfield area.
The city’s mayor asked people to pause for a moment of silence at 4:38 p.m., the time the tornado touched down.
The twister killed three people in the city and caused severe damage.
Churches were also asked to chime their bells to mark the beginning of the tornado’s rampage through the city.
