Perhaps nobody has had a more strange season than Trey Daerr.
Daerr started the season 1-0 with a blowout victory, then proceeded to lose 6 straight, and it looked like his season was over.
Since then, the sports anchor and host of "Fantasy Fixer" has rolled off three straight victories, including league No. 1 Tim Caputo this week in a blowout, to climb back into the playoff race.
There are just 3 weeks left in the regular season, but if the playoffs ended today, Daerr would hold the sixth and final spot.
Caputo would still be No. 1, but it’s now closer – Dan Hausle, who pulled off a big win over Pete Bouchard, is on his heels at 7-3. Joe Amorosino had a big chance to keep pace, but he dropped a decision to Nicole Oliverio.
Jeremy Reiner and Alex Corddry would be the other playoff teams if the season ended today. Reiner toppled Corddry this past week to move to 5-4-1 on the season. Corddry moves to 4-6 on the year but holds tiebreakers over Daerr, Anderson, Oliverio, and Bouchard (who are all 4-6).
The schedule doesn’t get easier for Daerr this week – he plays Hausle and needs wins to keep his playoff hopes alive.
