A State Police dog helped locate a child with autism who was reported missing in North Brookfield.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 29, State Police were notified of a 14-year-old boy on the autism spectrum who had gone missing.

Among those searching were Trooper Scott Davis and his police dog partner Cairo, who initiated a scout of a general area.

Around 10:55 p.m., Trooper Davis and Cairo located the boy sleeping on a park bench between two fenced basketball courts not far from where he was last seen.

The child was unharmed and was returned home.
