A 70-year-old man with Parkinson’s Disease who had gone missing while hunting was found by a State Police K-9.

Police say the man had gone out hunting with his dog in Northbridge and hadn’t returned. Northbridge Police requested assistance from Mendon Police as well as a State Police K-9 unit and began a search. State Police Air Wing also provided assistance.

Police were preparing to suspend the search until daylight when a K-9, Caber, showed a change in behavior. Troopers then heard a person yelling and blowing a whistle. Caber picked up a trail and eventually found the missing man with his dog at the base of a tree.

The man was checked out by EMS and was in the beginning stages of hypothermia. Police say the results could have been far different if not for the K-9’s assistance.
