A tour bus carrying 50 passengers caught fire on the Massachusetts Turnpike on Wednesday. 

At around 2:20 p.m., crews responded to the fire near mile marker 106, according to State Police. Firefighters quickly doused the flames. 

Forty-five passengers were removed from the bus and taken to a nearby rest area, according to State Police. 

No injuries have been reported.

The driver of the bus initially did not know it was on fire. Another motorist alerted the bus driver and the bus pulled over. 

Another bus is transporting the passengers to their original destination – Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut. 

SOE TOUR INC. is the operator of the bus. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
