SOUTH BOSTON, Mass. (WHDH) — Stephen Davis talked to the media after the Bulger verdict. The jury could not reach an agreement on the murder of Davis’ sister, Debra. He was so overcome with emotion; he finally had to just walk away.
“She knows I’m a fighter…And in this, I’ll be the last man standing,” said Davis before he walked away.
Debra’s ex-boyfriend, Stephen Flemmi, also known as the rifleman, testified that Whitey choked her to death. Even her brother Stephen didn’t buy it.
“I have to tell you all, I don’t feel that he, hands on himself killed my sister,” said Davis.
But he does believe that Bulger played a part in her murder.
“But the no finding is better than not guilty,” he said.
For now, Davis said the next step is to push for a murder charge against Whitey for the death of his sister.
“It’s not over for me. It’s not over until I’m in the ground. I think a lot of you’s know that of me. I have fight…beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Davis.
But Davis said if he was one of the jurors after Flemmi’s testimony, he would have ruled the same way.
