SOUTH BOSTON, Mass. (WHDH) — Steven Davis, brother of victim Debra Davis, delivered an emotional statement on day one of James Whitey Bulger’s sentencing.

Davis has been one of the most vocal of the relatives of the victims of Whitey Bulger.

Steven Davis took the stand Wednesday, looked right at Bulger and said: "This man’s built up so much hate in my heart that I’d like to strangle him myself. I hope Whitey dies the same way my sister did, grasping for breath."

Debbie Davis was Bulger’s girlfriend at one point. She is one of the seven victims, not included among the proven murders. Whitey Bulger and his associate Stephen Flemmi were essentially pointing fingers at each other saying that each other murdered Debbie Davis; strangled her in South Boston.

Steven Davis swore directly at Bulger during the sentencing, and demanded that the crime boss look at him. Bulger did not.

The judge is letting the family members of the seven victims who were not proven to have been killed by Bulger to speak.

Steven Davis said he’ll never have closure because his sister isn’t coming back.
