(WHDH) — A new study says the popular gaming app Pokemon Go has been quite costly.

According to researchers at Purdue University, people playing the game have caused up to $7 billion worth of damages across the country in the past year.

The study says there was an increase in car crashes, injuries and deaths near certain game checkpoints since Pokemon Go became available.
