A study in rats suggests a possible link between cell phone radiation and cancer.
The study is from the National Toxicology Program, which is part of the National Institutes of Health.
Researchers exposed 2,500 rodents to cell phone radiation for nine hours a day, every day for two years.
They found low rates of brain and heart tumors in exposed male rats, but not females.
The National Toxicology Program is still analyzing the findings.
A NIH spokesman says it’s important to note that “Human, observational data collected in earlier, large-scale population-based studies have found limited evidence of an increased risk for developing cancer from cell phone use.”
