Tomorrow is the last day of August and the last day of Meteorological Summer. With 90° highs in the forecast for tomorrow, it looks like we need to call upon good ol’ Michael Scott (The Office) and ask him to bring his steel drums. We’re talkin’ "hot, hot, hot!" (If you’re confused by this reference, please see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcCYx5oFz3g).
According to the calendar, fall is just around the corner. Also, just 10 days until the Patriots’ Home Opener! Wooh! There’s one thing about the change in the seasons we can all get excited about, right?! However, the calendar isn’t in charge of our forecast… and according to the forecast, summer will keep sizzlin’ on. This is all great news for all of you "summah-lovahs!"
I mentioned before that tomorrow’s highs will be around 90°. Unfortunately, with the humidity on the rise we also lose our cool nights. Overnight lows that bottomed out in the upper 40s this weekend (Norwood) will be bottoming out in the mid 60s to even the low 70s through the next few days. If 90° tomorrow is too hot for you, wait until Tuesday (Sept. 1st). A backdoor cold front will bring an onshore flow of "cooler" air (highs closer to 80°), and locations along the coast will get some relief from the heat.
Raindrops will be few and far between for the next several days (possibly even non-existent in some spots). Most areas are between 3-4" below normal for precip since May 1st. Our next best chance to pick up any rainfall will be with some possible thunderstorms on Thursday – but this won’t be beneficial rain.
Meantime, we have some GREAT beach weather to enjoy. If you booked vacation for late in the season and your vacation is this week, then you won the summer forecast lottery! Enjoy it! – Breezy
