Summer in September….hottest day of the year (Boston) occurred yesterday…93! We should be up near that number again today..maybe hotter. Our record for the day is 95 (back in 2007) & I think the city is close to that number this afternoon as summer hangs on across southern New England. Reason for our #ThrowbackSeason is a jet stream locked down in a position that prevents fall air from taking hold. We can get these little fall previews–like we saw last Friday-Saturday and will again this Friday-Saturday.

To get to our next preview of fall we’ll go through some weather by Thursday evening & night. It’s a cool front that will end our 90 degree heat but will: 1) add humidity to the mix leading to more uncomfortable weather during the day & 2) bring us the chance of some beneficial rains by Thursday evening. This rain will be scattered so you may get your outdoor plans accomplished Thursday afternoon before the rain arrives. As for the Pats game…as I say…plan for the worst & hope for the best…have the tents/tarps for tailgating and the ponchos on stand by for the game. I don’t see it raining all evening at Gillette but a few showers are likely sometime between 5-11pm Thursday.

In any event, we see Friday as a day of improvement with showers tapering off, skies partially clearing as well as lowering humidity.
