While the latest storm was more of a cloud producing than a rain producer for most of us, far Southeast Mass did pick up some rain as linger showers still extend across the Cape this morning.  Nantucket picked up about 2″ of rain, Chatham an 1″, Plymouth only .18″ and not much at all north of there.

The drought goes on for most of us as dry weather regains it’s grip over the next several days.  Showers across the Cape this morning end by mid-morning as sunshine returns.  Highs today run in the mid 60s across the Cape and South Shore coast, to near 70 in Boston to the mid 70s northwest of Boston.

While today is milder than yesterday, it’s the weekend that will really feature the warmer weather with highs in the lower to middle 80s inland and in the mid 70s at the coast!

So will we see any more rain anytime soon?  It appears mid-week, next week is our best chance, especially Wednesday, as a slow moving coastal storm develops.  While this last one missed most of us to our south, the next set-up appears a bit farther north, so hopefully we can get some beneficial rains out there on the shredded wheat we now call lawns.

Have a great weekend!
