Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for other people, yet never seems to get the recognition they deserve?

This week 7News is highlighting people who do wonderful things for others.

We asked viewers to tell us about someone they thought deserved a Summer Shout Out and one of them lives in Worcester.

Monika Korzep is one of a kind, and her boyfriend, Walter St. Dennis III, knows it.

As a full-time student and parent, she has a knack for helping others.

She has volunteered to make crafts for a friend whose daughter was diagnosed with CDKL5, a rare genetic disorder.

"Monika said, ‘I want to do something for this. I want to help alleviate your bills,’" said Walter. "She took out her sewing maching and she started making key fobs."

The key fobs became so popular, she’s now making wristlets. But this isn’t the first time for Monika. When her best friend’s fiance was injured in a car accident a few years ago, she organized a fundraising dinner.

"She went to a bunch of local businesses here in Worcester and was able to get donations from them, went down to the local church and rented the hall, even made the spaghetti."

Monika eventually raised over $1,000 to help pay rent and grocery bills.

She’s even gone above and beyond for people she doesn’t know.

Walter said Monika was so moved by the dissapearance of Jeremiah Oliver in 2014, she organized a balloon launch in his memory, even though she never met the family. She then raised money for a gravestone.

"She didn’t do it because she wanted to be famous," said Walter." She is a very large-hearted woman."

Walter said Monika is a 7News viewer, but never expected she would win a 2-night trip to the Hermitage Club in Westover, Vermont.

Check back in with 7News throughout the week at 6 a.m. to see more Summer Shout Outs.
