Today was almost as hot as the past couple of days, but by this afternoon, it didn't feel as tough to take.  The reasons?  MUCH lower humidity and an active breeze. With that said, with wall to wall sunshine, if you were outside exercising or working, it was a hot one.

We needed to hit 90 today to mark an official heat wave in Boston (heat wave = 3 consecutive days of 90+).  Today's high as of this 5pm writing, was 89. Just missed it.  Last heat wave we had was in July of 2013.

The high humidity won't be in a hurry to return this weekend either, allowing for more warm weather to prevail, but a manageable heat thanks to dew points that run in the 55-60 degree range.  That's a far cry from the 70-74 dew points we had yesterday.  While I do expect a mainly dry weekend, there will be one disturbance that has to swing on through tomorrow afternoon.  Moisture and instability are limited, however, there may be just enough spark to the atmosphere to kick off a passing shower or thunderstorm for a few towns.  Overall chance of seeing a passing storm runs 20-30%.  Another way to look at it, most stay dry, and even if you catch a storm, most of your day is still dry.  Heading to the beach or the golf course… just keep an eye to the sky.

Sunday is dry with more sun than clouds and highs well into the 80s.

The humidity does turn up Monday/Tuesday with scattered storms running through Tuesday thanks to a front.  Behind that front, we'll trend back toward the upper 70s and low 80s by the end of the week.

Enjoy the weekend!
