Some love it when they can hold onto summer in late September. Others want to turn the page and get on with the cool weather. Whatever your take on the weekend forecast, suffice it’s warm, and it won’t last forever.
In fact, I’m going to go out on a limb (wait, isn’t that my job?) and say that we may be seeing the last string of 80 degree days of the season. I mean really, what are the chances we can get a pair of 80 degree days – on the weekend, no less – in October? I can see an 80 degree day here or there, given that record highs have touched 80 or better through Halloween, but at some point, we have to…um, er, let it go.
Both days hit 80 or better away from the water’s edge. Gentle sea breezes will kiss the coast both afternoons, but it’s not a chilly wind this time around, just one to keep us under 80 at Logan Airport. Still, if you want to hit the beach one last time, this seems like a good weekend for it.
Cooler winds turn in from the northeast late on Monday to drop the temperatures back to reality on Tuesday and Wednesday. There are some signs of a coastal storm forming on the weather maps, but I have yet to be convinced. In fact, the one weather model that does show a storm is the odd man out – others bring back the sun after a cloudy day Tuesday. And so will I.
