TGIF!  If you're up and at em' early this morning, you know a comfortable air mass is still in place with cool temps and low humidity kicking off the day.  Not only do we have that, we have the sunshine to start as well.  However, unlike yesterday, the sunshine and dry weather won't have staying power all day long.

The reason for the change this afternoon is that there's a disturbance, and A LOT of cold air aloft, across southern Canada that'll drop south through New England throughout the day.  This will spark scattered thunderstorms across the area this afternoon.  With all that cold air upstairs, conditions are favorable for a few of these storms to contain gusty winds and small hail.  A couple showers/storms may get going between Noon-2pm across northern Mass and southern New Hampshire, but the most widespread activity is likely between 3-7pm.  If you're going to Fenway for the Sox game or to Gillette with the rest of the Swifties, just keep a heads up for a passing shower/storm threat through 7-8pm before it dries out.  The storms are scattered too, which means it's not a lock that you'll even see one near 1st pitch or the start of the concert.

The weekend overall looks cooler, especially tomorrow with highs in the low to mid 70s at the coast to the upper 70s inland.  I can't rule out a passing shower inland tomorrow, but much of the day remains dry.  As a warm front moves in here Sunday, a few more scattered showers/storms will be around.  Sunday's not an all day rain, but don't be surprised if you have to dodge some drops at times.

If you like the heat and humidity… I have a forecast for you!  Tuesday-Thursday of next week will feature temps near or above 90 and increasing humidity.  Most of that time is dry, so make those beach plans!
