Yuck! We didn’t get a ton of rain yesterday, but a steadier light rain/drizzle that put down a tenth to a quarter of an inch was enough to allow for a chilly, damp, and raw day.
While we don’t get the warmth back today, we do get the sunshine back. Morning clouds south of the Pike will tend to yield to partly to mostly sunny skies at times from late morning on. North of the Pike, we start and stay mainly sunny. Highs this afternoon reach the mid 40s on average, which is fairly typical for this time of year. Travel weather across all of New England looks good. Tonight will be chilly, near 20 in the coldest suburbs, but closer to 30 along the coast of Southeast Mass and in Boston. With cold air passing over the warmer ocean waters, and a NNE breeze, I can’t rule out a passing rain/snow shower over the Cape tonight, but should nothing significant is expected.
The next storm for us sets up for a rainy Tuesday night and Wednesday as plenty of moisture comes out of the Southern Plains and moves northeast. The main area of low pressure works through the Great Lakes, meaning we’re on the warmer side of the storm. So no snow. In fact, the pattern for the next couple weeks looks like it’d be tough to get any significant snow in here. So if you procrastinate in putting out the Christmas decorations outside, you still have some time. After Wednesday’s rain, high pressure should control the board through next weekend. Keeping a coastal storm offshore, well southeast of us next weekend.
Have a good end to the holiday weekend and Goooooo Pats!
