BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston Police have released a new image and are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in connection with an attempted kidnapping in Roxbury.

Police said a 13-year-old girl was walking to her bus stop on Blue Hill Avenue Tuesday morning when the man backed his white sedan next to her. He then allegedly got out of his car and followed her around the corner before he grabbed her.

Hector Rodriguez, the girl’s stepfather, said the man grabbed her from behind and she kicked him and screamed for help. A witness came to the girl’s aid and the suspect ran off. Rodriguez said his stepdaughter was not hurt but she is shaken up.

“She’s doing alright, a little nervous,” said Rodriguez. “She’s afraid to leave the house but it’s not going to stop her from going to school.”

Rodriguez said he will now walk her to the bus stop so she can feel safer about going to school.

Officials say the man is a black male between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds. He was clean-shaven and was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black t-shirt and tan pants.

The man was seen fleeing the area in a white Nissan Sentra with a sun-roof and rear wing on the trunk.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Boston Police.
