LONDONDERRY, N.H. (WHDH) — A suspect involved in a standoff with police in Londonderry, New Hampshire has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The incident began with a well-being check Tuesday morning and ended with the police standoff on Currier Drive.
Several residents were first asked to stay in their homes, and were later evacuated during the standoff.
The suspect, under police guard, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
The homeowner, said to be in his early 70’s, refused to come out of the home, even after police used a bullhorn and sent a robot into the house, trying to coax him out.
According to a SWAT team, the standoff is now over.
Neighbors said the suspect has had run-ins with residents over the years.
There is no word on the suspect’s condition at this time, nor how the standoff came to an end.
Residents have returned to their homes.
A representative from the New Hampshire Attorney General arrived at the scene Tuesday afternoon.
