Brandeis University officials say they are concerned after a swastika was found in condensation on a window of an off-campus house.
Officials said the image was found on Friday night at a home on South Street where members of Alpha Episilon Pi, a predominantly Jewish fraternity, live. An event was being held at the house on Friday night.
"It’s definitely disheartening and it’s disgusting and it’s just terrible," said Brandeis student Andrew Miller.
Brandeis is the only non-sectarian university in the country founded by the American Jewish community.
The Waltham Police Department was notified about the incident and they are now working with the school and fraternity. Both the college and fraternity said they will work with Police to help identify the person responsible.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 781-314-3600.
Statement from intern Brandeis University President Lisa M. Lynch: "I condemn this malicious action. In my opinion, there is no place in society for such a despicable display of intolerance and hatred."
The student union also put out a statement saying they stand behind the University.
