A Taunton Police Officer helped rescue a mother and her five-year-old son from their burning home.
The officer was on routine patrol Wednesday night when he saw flames at the home on Longmeadow Road.
He knocked on the door to see if anybody was trapped inside.
A mother and child were sleeping at the time.
Both managed to get out safely.
The family’s dog is also OK.
