SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts teacher charged a second time with making a false bomb threat has pleaded not guilty.
Tina Fisher of Westfield was arraigned Wednesday in Hampden Superior Court. A judge granted the defense and prosecution’s request that she remain released on her own recognizance.
Authorities say the 46-year-old Ludlow High School teacher made the threat by leaving a note in a classroom in December. The school was evacuated. An inspection determined that there was no bomb.
Fisher had faced the same charge after a bomb threat was found in 2006 at an elementary school where she taught. That case was dropped.
School officials wouldn’t say whether Fisher is out on leave but sent a letter to staff saying a teacher was placed on leave when the investigation started.
