BOSTON (WHDH) - While the baseball bats are in storage for the offseason, golf clubs are now what’s swinging at Fenway Park, now that a company has temporarily turned the stadium into a driving range.

TopGolf Live Stadium Tour has turned Fenway into “Fairway Park” for the next few days, giving visitors a unique experience and chance to test their drive at the oldest baseball stadium in the nation.

“We saw it online and figured out the best way to see Fenway (was) to come down and hit balls there,” said Dana Brearley.

“I was talking about it all week and everyone thought I was insane because I was like ‘Oh, I’m going golfing at Fenway!’ and they were like ‘Do you, do you know what Fenway park is?'” said Mary Kate Boggan, who celebrated her birthday at the venue. “It’s funny! So, it’s a good time and it’s great to be a part of the experience.”

The Green Monster has been overlooking a different kind of green below, one covered with several targets worth different point values. With monitors and tracking technology, golfers who take a swing can then see just how many points they wrack up with every ball hit.

“I won, uh, 5 out of 6 games – not terrible, no big deal!” bragged Riley Tuttle.

It’s a tee-time that anyone with any experience can take a shot all, even if golf isn’t their forte.

“Terrible,” Brearley said with a smile when asked how he did.

“I hit a couple balls out there, I kind of faked my way through it but they went out there anyways,” said Joyce Curran, who travelled to Fenway from Connecticut. “I didn’t miss! No whiffs!”

At $70-a-person, whether they made contact or whiffed, golfers who spoke with 7NEWS said it was a good way to spend an afternoon in Boston, especially on a warm weekend.

“It feels like summertime!” Tuttle said. “It’s July out here! Warm as heck!”

“Unbelievable, it’s so great,” Curran said. “I mean, we could have been out here in coats and jackets and mittens and hats, but it’s beautiful.”

“Really cool experience, once-in-a-lifetime thing,” said James McCarthy. “So, now I can say forever (that) I hit some golf balls at Fenway Park.”

TopGolf will be at Fenway until Wednesday, Nov. 9, though the company’s website showed that as of Sunday, Nov. 6, all remaining dates were sold out.
