The teenage girl who was shot, and initially thought to have died, is continuing to recover.
The mother of 14-year-old Abigail Kope said that she is now breathing on her own after the hospital removed her breathing tube.
Police say an Uber driver shot her while she was in a Cracker Barrel parking lot.
The suspect, 45-year-old Jason Dalton, is charged in the attack in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
Dalton allegedly shot eight people, killing six of them in three different locations.
Police believe the shooting spree was random.
