WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) — The winter storm that dumped more than a foot of snow on parts of Eastern Mass. brought bone-chilling temps to the Worcester area.

Before midnight wind chills in Worcester reached 19 degrees below zero.

“I’m layered up; I have like four pairs of pants on and four sweatshirts so I’m cold. I do not like this at all,” one woman said.

The Worcester hills are usually home to the highest amounts of snow, but this storm will only leave around 10 inches of snow in the region.

“Usually Worcester is a snow magnet but this particular storm seems to be focused on the cape, the north shore and the south shore, so I think we’re lucky,” one man said.

With the cold temperatures many people will be running their cars before leaving the house. Police advise people to make sure to clean around the exhaust pipes of their car to prevent the inhalation of dangerous gasses.
