Officials in Tennessee continue to search for a 16-year-old boy who brutally attacked a juvenile detention officer, grabbed her gun and tried to shoot her before fleeing.
Blount County officials searched through the night for Joseph Dillion French.
The 16-year-old brutally attacked a corrections officer, who is in her 60’s, with a porcelain toilet top Friday.
The officer fell to the floor, and raised her hands to protect her face. French threw the top on her and it shattered.
The officer continued to try to grab French’s legs, even as he grabbed her service gun from a lockbox.
He put the gun in her face and tried to fire the weapon before running out the door.
French has been in juvenile custody at least four times, and this time he was being held on two "violation of truancy" charges.
The detention officer was treated for her injuries and has been released.
