TEWKSBURY, MASS. (WHDH) - A Tewksbury teen was called to court accused of assaulting another teen who later died from his injuries.

Joseph Zagarella, 18, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after a fight at a Lowell house party turned deadly.

The hearing today was about the terms of his house arrest.

Officials say 15-year-old Ethan Costello bumped into Zagarella, who responded by picking him up and slamming him head first into the floor. He later died at the hospital.

Witnesses said Zagarella bragged about the incident.

Zagarealla will be back in court in January.
