FRAMINGHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - A Texas man arrested after police said he solicited a teenage girl for sex at a shopping plaza in Framingham appeared in court on Tuesday.
Police said the 14-year-old girl was walking by the Olive Garden at the Shoppers World plaza at around 5 p.m. Monday when 25-year-old Robert Toney drove up to her.
Toney allegedly offered her cash for sex and the girl said no and walked away.
Toney then allegedly followed the girl and ordered her to get in his car.
He drove off but police put out an alert for a cream-colored car with Texas license plates. Shortly after this, Toney was pulled over in Sherborne.
Police said the girl identified him and he was arrested.
Toney’s attorney said he fully denied the claims.
Toney was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
Two similar incidents were reported in Newton over the weekend and police are investigating if all the incidents are connected.
