"A Festivus for the rest of us"…..I do have a few meteorological grievances:

* A second straight year with wicked warmth on Christmas Eve/Day

* Another late start to winter…I prefer fast starts & finishes to winter

Nothing I can do about it though as our pattern of crazy warmth rolls on. Temps for December are averaging about 9-10 degree above normal and we are on pace for this to be the warmest December on record—by far! Bri put together a cool graphic earlier today that showed the 3 previous warm winters all had way below normal snowfall for the season (top 3 warmest December’s had in order….17"..19"…15" of snow for the season).

No snow with this storm, technically a warm front and this front is bringing it! Temps tonight stay in the 40s & 50s and by tomorrow our temps head for the upper 60s–record warmth likely (Boston record is 61). The rain we have out there tonight is gone by daybreak Thursday and all we’ll have to contend with is leftover cloudiness through the day (a few sprinkles also possible). Warm for Christmas Eve services.

Christmas day is another warm day with clouds & some sun. Temps on Friday are near-record, reaching the low 60s by afternoon. The Holiday weekend continues our mild theme with mostly cloudy skies each day and temps both Saturday & Sunday. A few sprinkles are likely on Saturday.

Early next week offers a break in our spring-like warmth….colder weather for Monday-Wednesday and even the shot at some wintry precipitation on Tuesday. Way too early for any type of storm deets but most likely scenario is for snow for a few hours then a change to rain. Perhaps enough snow to plow along & west of I-495. More on this in the coming days.

Enjoy your Christmas!
