When looking at current temps across Merica I find it simply amazing…..temps in the single numbers as far south as Missouri! On November 18th. As a whole the nation hasn’t experienced cold this bold in November since 1976 (that winter ’76-77 was brutal for the United States). Now WE get into this arctic fun today!
The numbers right now (5am) aren’t that bad with most towns in the mid 30s to around 40 but they will fall into the low 30s by 7am and stay there for the day. A cold west wind is the culprit which funnels in the arctic express and adds a chill to that arctic air helping to create wind chills in the 20s through the day. Clear & cold tonight with lows into the teens & low 20s. December.
The remainder of the week is storm-free so no concern of plowable snows but there will be one more arctic front that blasts through here late tomorrow night & early Thursday morning. This front may pop some snow flurries early in the day on Thursday but otherwise more cold sunshine on tap. By the weekend, the cold will ease as daytime temps climb toward 50 by Sunday afternoon…just a smidge below normal.
