Remember the sun?  It’s the golden orb in the sky that warms us up and brings us light?  Well, it’s been a while since we’ve seen any proof that it still exists… but we will get a reminder today!  Peeks of sunshine already greeting some of us on this Friday morning, and while we will stay mostly cloudy today – it’s still an improvement on the last several days.  That’s the good news.

The bad news is, there are more showers on the way.  However, it doesn’t look like it will be much and this wet weather will hold off until the evening hours for most.  The better chance for more moderate rain, even some heavier rain, will be SW.  The showers move into Massachusetts from the SW after 6-7pm, and will be scattered in nature.  So again, have the umbrella handy – but today is the beginning of improving weather.

Highs this afternoon will top out in the mid to upper 50s inland, and closer to 51° along the coast.  We still have an onshore flow, which will keep the coastal areas cooler again today.  Though, it won’t be as breezy as yesterday (another bit of good news)!  Couple the onshore flow with astronomically high tides, and we have a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for high tide (around midnight) again tonight (like last night).

The improvement continues into the weekend.  I think we’ll finally climb into the 60s for both weekend days, though keep mostly cloudy skies around.  There’s a slight chance for showers on Saturday – and a better chance on Sunday.  I guess that’s the bad news:  Early showers in store for Mother’s Day.  Bummer, I know. BUT – we really need the front to swing through to kick out our cruddy pattern!  So, by afternoon Sunday, I think we’ll have more sunshine around and a bit of a breeze – but how do 60° temps sound?

The beginning of next week looks even better.  Hang in there… we’re on our way. -Breezy
