The daylight hours are getting shorter (sunset tonight at 7:24pm), the UV Index is going down a touch (sun angle not so powerful anymore), and dare I mention the Halloween candy that’s already decorating the store isles?  It would seem as though fall is just around the corner – but don’t tell our forecast that.  Temps are on the RISE next week, keeping summer sizzling into September.

High pressure will be keeping us HIGH and DRY for the next several days – at least, "dry" in the sense that we won’t see much (if any) rain.  What’s actually a bit concerning while looking at some of the weather models is, best case scenario would be 0.25" of rain within the next 10 days for SOME spots.  Some areas will be dry as a bone.  Sorry, Mr. Lawn and Mr. Garden… You’s guys are gonna be a bit thirsty.

The big "H" on the map tells the story for us… Heat and Humidity back in the forecast.  Just how HOT are we talking?  If the forecast verifies this week, we will be tacking on 3 more "90° days" to this season that has already seen NINE "90° days" and an official "heat wave" to boot!  Warmest days of this week will be Wednesday and Thursday.

Yes, I did mention humidity too… Dewpoints (a great tool for measuring humidity) are on the rise this week as well.  If we have dewp’s in the 50s, that’s considered comfortable (as it has been for the past few days).  Dewp’s in the low 60’s are sticky, and dewp’s in the upper 60s are muggy.  We’ll be making that climb in dewpoints to make Monday a "case of the muggies."  So get the moose and hairspray ready; the Frizz Factor is becoming a factor once again.

Now, the immediate future:  Check out the full "Sturgeon" moon tonight!  Clouds will be moving in, but I think we’ll start with a beautiful sunrise Sunday, followed by a partly sunny afternoon.  Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s, so another great beach day is in store.  There’s  a very slight chance for a spot shower tomorrow (20%) – but again any drop of rain we do see, we should cherish.  Rain drops will be few and far between for the next week or so.

Enjoy this last weekend of August!  I checked out the Saint Anthony’s Feast today and it was wonderful!  That’s why I’ll add a 75% chance of garlic in the air if you’re spending tomorrow in the North End, depending on which way the wind blows and which street you’re on.  -Breezy
