Police are searching for whoever stole an assault rifle and bullet proof vest from a cruiser.
The car was parked in the trooper’s driveway while he was off-duty, with the rifle in a locked case in the trunk.
The key to the case was also taken from a gym bag in the car.
Investigators haven’t determined yet if the trooper will be held responsible for leaving the key to the gun’s case in his gym bag.
