Pope Francis led Christmas Eve Mass Thursday, calling on Christians to let the life of Jesus inspire their lives.
Approximately 10,000 people packed Saint Peter’s Basilica for the Mass.
The pontiff called on those "intoxicated" by possessions to return to the essential values of life.
It will also be a busy Christmas Day at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
The church will hold a Christmas Mass Friday morning.
