Yes, it was an epic fail for spring weather today with off & on rain (especially midday) and temps in the upper 30s. Farther north it was even more embarrassing with snow! Yup, 2.2" of snow fell up in Portland, Maine. While I work through my shows–and this blog–I’m watching severe weather coverage from our NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City. They are doing an outstanding job covering severe thunderstorms in Oklahoma this evening and while the meteorologist in me is jealous the homeowner & husband/father in me is thankful for this cold wedge of air in New England. That ocean can be frustrating to be nestled up against in April-May but it acts as thunderstorm kryptonite—protecting us from severe weather.

Tomorrow we are back into sunshine thanks to High Pressure. This area of High Pressure has come from Canada tho so no real warmth but the sun has legs this time of year and after a cold early morning (low 30s with frost threat along the coastline, Boston excluded) our temps will make a nice recovery and head for the 50s by afternoon. Once again, coastal locations will be prone to a cool breeze so plan on temps in the low 50s in Boston tomorrow….

…and again on Thursday with similar weather. A chilly start to the day with seasonable temps by afternoon. There will be a few more clouds around by Thursday afternoon as a storm passes to our south. Dry weather is back with us on Friday.

Enjoy your tacos.
