HOUSTON (WHDH) — A toddler in Texas died after police said he got trapped in his parents’ hot car.

Police said the 3-year-old boy named Evan somehow got out of his house and climbed into his parents’ car to look for a toy. He was unable to get back out as the car doors had child safety locks on them. Officials said the temperature inside the car was more than 90 degrees.

By the time firefighters arrived, Evan had already gone into cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Police said Evan was likely missing for 30 to 45 minutes before he was found.

No charges have been filed and police said this appears to be an accident.
