TOPSFIELD, MASS. (WHDH) -
The injured man, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.Officials say the man was lucky to have his cellphone on him and for walking away without serious injuries.

A Topsfield man was rescued by firefighters Monday evening after his floor collapsed under him, according to the Topsfield Fire Department.

The concrete floor of a screened-in porch suddenly gave in underneath the man shortly before 6 p.m. Monday.

The collapse left the man trapped in a 10-foot concrete hole.Firefighters had to be lowered into the hole by ground ladder and used rescue rope and a stokes basket to rescue the man.

The injured man, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Officials say the man was lucky to have his cellphone on him and for walking away without serious injuries.
