A Townsend man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing woman who asked him to turn his music down.
Around 12:35 a.m. on Friday, Townsend Police responded to a disturbance on Turnpike Road.
When they arrived, they were made aware of a stabbing that had occurred when a woman knocked on another tenant’s door to ask him to turn down loud music.
According to police, the suspect struck the woman three times with a knife and then went back into his apartment.
The 65-year-old woman was transported to UMass Memorial in Worcester and was last known to be in stable condition.
Christopher Polakowski, 33 of Townsend, was arrested and charged with assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and attempted murder.
Polakowski was arraigned on Friday and was held without bail.
